Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Works/City Engineer to amend an existing agreement with Donohue & Associates, Inc. for Engineering Consulting Services related to conducting a Feasibility Study of the replacement of the generator located at the Fire Administration Building in an amount not to exceed $11,000.00.
Body
WHEREAS, the City has an existing agreement with Donohue & Associates, Inc. for Engineering Consulting Services for the design and installation of an emergency generator system at City Hall in the amount of $17,760; and,
WHEREAS, during the course of the work it became apparent that emergency generating systems at other City buildings may be deficient due to age and / or other factors; and,
WHEREAS, the Engineering Division requested an amendment from Donohue & Associates, Inc. to develop a standby power master plan that would include the Health Department and Fire Stations and Police Headquarters in an amount of $15,000 (R-2015-0266); and,
WHEREAS, the Engineering Division is now requesting a Feasibility Study related to the replacement of the generator located at the Fire Administration Building with two options being investigated for the placement of the generator; replacement in kind in the garage or a relocation to the roof of the garage.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that up to $11,000 is hereby approved for Donohue & Associates, Inc. to conduct a Feasibility Study of the replacement of the generator located at the Fire Administration Building.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works/City Engineer be and is hereby authorized to enter into an amended agreement for Engineering Consulting Services with Donohue & Associates, Inc. and that the Director of Public Works/City Engineer is directed and authorized to use the Capital Improvement Fund for Buildings/Facilities to pay for these services and related work.
