Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Works/City Engineer to enter into an agreement with Donohue & Associates for engineering services related to installing an emergency generator at the Police Department Headquarters amount of $19,500.
Body
WHEREAS, the Common Council authorized the purchase of a 2000 kw Caterpillar emergency generator from the Wisconsin Division of Federal Property earlier this year; and,
WHEREAS, the emergency generator was originally purchased for use at the Water Reservoir and Pumping Station; and,
WHEREAS, after further review it was determined that a better use of the generator would be at the Police Department Headquarters since the size of the generator would completely supply the electrical needs of the Headquarters; and,
WHEREAS, after trying to work with various contractors and suppliers without success it was determined that the City needs outside consulting help to properly install the emergency generator; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council deems it to be in the best interests of the City of West Allis to accept the engineering services agreement with Donohue & Associates for drafting plans and specifications for the installation scheduled in the spring of 2011.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that up to $19,500 is hereby approved to be funded thought the appropriate City account.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of Public Works/City Engineer be and is hereby authorized to enter into an agreement for engineering services with Donohue & Associates.
