WHEREAS, the Public Works Sanitation and Streets Division has a need to replace two 16-year old tandem axle dump trucks and material spreaders with new, more efficient and functional trucks which will enhance both our ice control plan as well as our street maintenance program throughout all seasons of the year; and

WHEREAS, the 2022 approved budget includes $268,000 for the purchase of each piece of equipment; and,

WHEREAS, due to the increase in global markets which have increased the pricing for both tandem dump trucks; and,

WHEREAS, additional funding is needed for the increase of pricing of said equipment in the amount of $6,038, which will be funded by excess funds from the 2021 CIP Public Works projects using Account Number 352-4218-535.70-03 of the Capital Equipment Budget; and,

WHEREAS, a cooperative proposal through the Sourcewell National Cooperative Contract #060920-NVS has been received for delivering two (2) 2024 International model HV613 SBA cab and chassis tandem axle trucks and two (2) Henderson stainless steel dump bodies with plow and spreader packages for the Public Works Sanitation and Streets Division of the City of West Allis; and

WHEREAS, the Fleet Services Division of the Department of Public Works has determined that this contract meets all desired specifications, and that the cooperative agreement proposal received is reasonable; and

WHEREAS, the Common Council deems it to be in the best interests of the City of West Allis that the joint proposals of Lakeside International and Casper's Truck Equipment be accepted.
