Title
Resolution authorizing the Director of Development to enter into a professional services contract for a community engagement and planning effort for the Burnham Pointe Neighborhood with Better Block, in an amount not to exceed $55,000.

Body
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of West Allis (the "City"), on November 29, 2018, issued RFP #18-026 seeking proposals for professional services to provide community engagement and neighborhood revitalization strategies for the Burnham Pointe Neighborhood; and,

WHEREAS, the City received one (1) response from qualified consultants; and,

WHEREAS, a panel of City staff determined Better Block to be a qualified consultant for the requested services; and,

WHEREAS, the Capital Improvement Committee ($25,000) and the Community Development Block Grant Committee ($30,000), respectively, have approved a total of $55,000 towards planning revitalization efforts in the Burnham Pointe Neighborhood; and,

WHEREAS, the Department of Development recommends that the City enter into a professional services contract for community engagement and neighborhood revitalization efforts in the Burnham Pointe Neighborhood not to exceed $55,000, with Better Block.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis as follows:

1. That the Director of Development, or his designee, is authorized to enter into a professional services contract for community engagement and neighborhood revitalization efforts in the Burnham Pointe Neighborhood not to exceed $55,000.

2. That the sum of $55,000 be and is hereby appropriated, $30,000 from Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds (# 220-7522-563-3102 Project # C18407) and $25,000 from Capital Improvement Funds.

3. That the City Attorney be and is hereby authorized to make such substantive and non-substantive changes, modifications, additions and deletions to and from the various provisions ...
