Resolution to amend the agreement with Ayres Associates Inc. for methane and groundwater sampling at the Lincoln Avenue landfill site for three years at an amount not to exceed $19,500.

WHEREAS, in 1994, the Wisconsin DNR approved a closure plan for the former landfill site at 113th Street and Lincoln Avenue; and,

 

WHEREAS, following the closure of the landfill, the City of West Allis is required to conduct ongoing methane and groundwater sampling, as prescribed by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR); and,

 

WHEREAS, Ayres Associates Inc. has been the City’s long time consultant for these services and has proposed to continue to provide the necessary services to monitor this site for a three year period from January 1, 2024 continuing through December 31, 2026 for an amount not to exceed $19,500.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that the proposal dated June 28, 2023, submitted by Ayres Associates Inc. for methane gas and groundwater sampling at the Lincoln Avenue landfill is hereby amended and accepted.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that funding for these services will be budgeted and made available within 100-4201-535-3304.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the appropriate City officials are directed and hereby authorized to issue a purchase order for the aforesaid services and the Director of Public Works is authorized to sign the agreement and take all appropriate actions to execute the sampling services in compliance with WDNR rules and regulations.
