Title

Resolution to amend existing contract with Blue Ribbon Organics for renewal of continued yard waste management services.

 

Body

WHEREAS, in 2016 and 2021 the Finance Department had advertised a request for proposal to provide yard waste management services for the Department of Public Works of the City of West Allis, proposals were received and evaluated; and,

 

WHEREAS, in 2016 Blue Ribbon Organics proposal was selected and approved for a five-year contract in May 2016; and,

 

WHEREAS, in 2021 Blue Ribbon Organics proposal was selected and executed for a four-year contract in December 2021; and,

 

WHEREAS, Blue Ribbon Organics requested to amend contract for renewal purposes addressing increased costs associated to processing of yard waste materials; and,

 

WHEREAS, Blue Ribbon Organics and Department of Public Works negotiated an amended pricing increase of said services, by 3%, for each year through 2025; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Common Council deems it to be in the best interests of the City of West Allis that the amendment requested by Blue Ribbon Organics be accepted; and,

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that the proposed amendment submitted March 16, 2023 by Blue Ribbon Organics for removal and disposal of leaves & garden debris, branches and brush for the period and pricing specified be and is hereby accepted.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that both parties may mutually agree to renew this contract for up to two (2) additional one (1) year periods.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Department of Public Works Director, be and is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for the aforesaid services.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funding for this service is budgeted in account 550-4233-535-4109 Solid Waste Dumping Fees and 540-1801-538-4109 Storm Water Dumping Fees.
