WHEREAS, the Public Works Sanitation and Streets Division has a need to replace a 16-year old refuse packer (#816) that has exceeded its service life. This will enhance the reliability of our refuse and snow plowing fleet; and,

WHEREAS, the 2022 approved budget includes $320,000 for a refuse packer; and,

WHEREAS, a cooperative proposal through the Sourcewell National Cooperative Contract #091219-MCN has been received for delivering one 2023 McNeilus model 2016 20 yard refuse packer body for $131,476 and Contract #060920-CRN has been received for one 2023 Crane Carrier Company LET2-46 cab and chassis with plow package for $198,736 for a net sum of $330,212 for the Public Works Sanitation and Streets Division of the City of West Allis; and,

WHEREAS, due to the increase in global markets which have increased the pricing of the refuse packer equipment; and,

WHEREAS, additional funding is needed for the increase of pricing of said equipment in the amount of $10,212, which will be funded by excess funds from the 2021 CIP Public Works projects using Account Number 352-4201-535.70-03 of the Capital Equipment Budget; and,

WHEREAS, the Fleet Services Division of the Department of Public Works has determined that this contract meets all desired specifications, and that the cooperative agreement proposal received is reasonable; and,

WHEREAS, the Common Council deems it to be in the best interests of the City of West Allis that the proposals of McNeilus Truck and Cumberland Service Center be accepted.
