Resolution to authorize the purchase of two 2022 Ram 1500 Tradesman 4x2 pick-up trucks from Ewald Automotive Group for a sum of $56,441 and of Bird Ladder for furnishing two aluminum saddle tool boxes (127-05-03) for the sum of $1,800, for a total of $58,241.

Whereas, the Public Works Building and Sign Division is in need of replacing one 18 year old pick-up truck #46, and one 15 year old pick-up truck #73, with new, more efficient and functional pick-up trucks; and,
Whereas, the 2021 approved budget includes $32,150 for the purchase of each pick-up truck; and,
Whereas, Ewald Automotive Group, the State of Wisconsin contract holder, has provided pricing for the two 2022 pick-up truck vehicles for the Public Works Building and Sign Division of the City of West Allis; and,
Whereas, the Fleet Services Division of the Department of Public Works has determined that this contract meets all desired specifications, and the proposal received is reasonable; and,
Whereas, the Common Council deems it to be in the best interests of the City of West Allis that the proposals of Ewald Automotive Group and Bird Ladder be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that the proposals dated October 1, 2021 by Ewald Automotive Group for furnishing and delivering two (2) 2022 Ram 1500 Tradesman 4x2 pick-up trucks for $28,220.50 each. In addition, the proposal dated August 23, 2021 by Bird Ladder for furnishing and delivering two (2) 127-05-03 aluminum saddle tool boxes for $900 each for a total net sum of $58,241 be and is hereby accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that the purchase of the above described items, for an amount of $58,241, is hereby authorized. Funding for this purchase is available in the General Fund, Public Works Budget and the purchase will be charged to Account Number 352-4101-533.70-03, Vehicles.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Finance Department be and is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for the aforesaid equipment.
