Resolution to accept the proposal of Clean Harbors Environmental Services, Inc. for contamination cleanup of the waste oil tank at the Municipal Yard Drop-off site

WHEREAS, the waste oil containment tank at the Municipal Yard Drop-off site required replacement; and,
WHEREAS, services were required to remove oil contents within the existing containment tank; and,
WHEREAS, Department of Public Works was notified the existing waste oil tank and its contents was contaminated with hazardous waste-mercury; and,
WHEREAS, services were rendered in the amount of $8,300 from OSI Environmental, Inc. for testing and decontamination of OSI equipment that was contaminated with the hazardous waste contents; and,
WHEREAS, additional services are needed to properly address the waste oil containment tank and its waste oil contents; and,
WHEREAS, the Sanitation and Street Division of the Department of Public Works has reported that it has received two proposals to address the proper disposal of the waste oil contents and containment tank; and,
WHEREAS, the Sanitation and Street Division, Department of Public Works has selected Clean Harbors Environmental Services, Inc. for their services to properly dispose of the containment tank and waste oil; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of West Allis deems it to be in the best interests of the City that Clean Harbors Environmental Services, Inc. be accepted; and,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that the proposal dated March 10, 2021, submitted by Clean Harbors Environmental, Inc. for the sum of $20,056.93 be and is hereby accepted. Funding for this project will be charged to Account Number Dumping fees: 550-4233-535-4109.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED the Finance Department be authorized to issue a purchase order for the aforesaid.
