Title

Resolution authorizing and directing the City Engineer to amend the State/Municipal Agreement for a Highway Improvement Project with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the design, construction and other related work on the reconstruction of signalized intersections on W. Lincoln Ave. at S. 84 St., S. 76 St., and S. 71 St.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the City and the Wisconsin Department of Transportation currently have an agreement to improve traffic signals along W. Lincoln Avenue at the intersections of 84th, 76th, and 71st Streets signed March 2019 (R-2019-0183); and,

 

WHEREAS, the estimated project costs have exceeded the agreed upon federal limit of funds prompting the City Engineer to request additional funding from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT); and,

 

WHEREAS, the WisDOT has increased the project federal funding limit from $1,221,202 to $1,554,343 for construction of this project this year; and,

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the City Engineer be and is hereby authorized and directed to amend the agreement with the WisDOT for the Project (State ID 2110-00-03/73), a copy of the State/Municipal Agreement is attached hereto and by reference made a part hereof.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the total eligible estimated project cost is $2,011,379 of which $1,763,154 is the Federal share and the remaining $248,225 is the local municipal share.  It is understood that West Allis will pay to the State all costs incurred by the State in connection with this project, which exceed the Federal financing commitments, or are ineligible for Federal financing.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Engineer forward a certified copy of this Resolution, together with the executed State/Municipal Agreement, to the office of the WisDOT and take whatever further action is required to initiate and effect the street improvement.
