Resolution to consider funding $253,902 in grants from the established CDBG-CV Small Business Innovation Grant Program

 

Body

WHEREAS, the COVID-19 crisis has negatively impacted West Allis’ small business community resulting in lost revenue and significant employee layoffs; and,

 

WHEREAS, the City of West Allis values its small businesses and their local contributions to the vibrant growth and momentum of the City; and,

 

WHEREAS, the City recognizes that a number of small businesses were unable to access federal disaster relief through various emergency programs; and,

 

WHEREAS, the City, under Resolution R-2020-0680, established a CDBG-CV Small Business Innovation Grant Program for businesses with 1-20 employees with an application period from December 3 through December 14, 2020; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Economic Development Program is recommending the attached list of applicants that meet the established criteria for CDBG-CV Small Business Innovation Grant Program.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that it hereby approves funding $253,902 in grants from the established CDBG-CV Small Business Innovation Program. 

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Economic Development Executive Director or his designee is authorized to implement the Program and execute funding agreements. 

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Attorney be and is hereby authorized to make such non-substantive changes, modifications, additions and deletions to and from the funding agreements, including any and all attachments, exhibits, addendums and amendments, as may be necessary and proper to correct inconsistencies, eliminate ambiguity and otherwise clarify and supplement said provisions to preserve and maintain the general intent thereof, and to prepare and deliver such other and further documents as may be reasonably necessary to complete the transactions contemplated therein.
