Resolution to adopt the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin Water Utility Rate and Rule Order 6360-WR-110

WHEREAS, the City of West Allis Water Utility’s last water increase was placed into effect on October 1, 2017; and
WHEREAS, the existing rates are not sufficient to support the Water Utility’s ongoing operations, increased cost of materials, supplies, contracts, and maintenance agreements, etc.; and,
WHEREAS, the approved rates would provide for a $318,060 increase, which equates to an overall 3.89% rate increase, with a 4.9% rate of return; and,
WHEREAS, the council previously approved up to a $971,483 increase, or 11.3% increase, with a 7% rate of return;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Public Works and Common Council that the West Allis Water Utility shall apply rates authorized by the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin under Utility Rate Order 6360-WR-110 with an effective date of November 1, 2020.
