Body

WHEREAS, West National Avenue from S. 62nd Street to S. 65th Street is in very poor condition with the overlying asphalt being worn and cracked and the base concrete being heaved and cracked extensively as well; and,

WHEREAS, West National Avenue was originally built with concrete pavement in 1930 and resurfaced in 1986; and,

WHEREAS, the City of West Allis has already entered into a State/Municipal Agreement with WisDOT for the design of the reconstruction project; and,

WHEREAS, the WisDOT has notified the City that this project's construction has been selected for funding; and,

WHEREAS, the State/Municipal Agreement includes the following major items; Design, Construction and State Review for the concrete pavement, sidewalks, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water, street lighting, and traffic signals.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the City Engineer be and is hereby authorized and directed to enter into an agreement with the WisDOT for the Project (State ID 2410-13-00/70), a copy of the State/Municipal Agreement is attached hereto and by reference made a part hereof.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the total eligible estimated project cost is $3,049,808 of which $2,439,046 is the Federal share and the remaining $610,762 is the local municipal share. It is understood that West Allis will pay to the State all costs incurred by the State in connection with this project, which exceed the Federal financing commitments, or are ineligible for Federal financing.
