Resolution relative to determination of Application for a Special Use Permit for 160 Driving Academy, a proposed business to be located at 900 Block S. 63 St.
Body
WHEREAS, Terry Hardin (Applicant), d/b/a 160 Driving Academy, has duly filed with the City Clerk an application for a Special Use Permit, pursuant to Sec. 12.44(2) and Sec. 12.16 of the Revised Municipal Code, to establish a truck driving training facility to be located at 900 Block S. 63 St.; and,
WHEREAS, after due notice, a public hearing was held by the Common Council on July 14, 2020, at 7:00 p.m., in the Common Council Chambers to consider the application; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council, having carefully considered the evidence presented at the public hearing and the following pertinent facts noted:
1. The applicant and property owner, Terry Hardin, d/b/a 160 Driving Academy, is proposing to establish a truck driving training facility at 900 Block S. 63 St. (Tax Key No. 439-0001-048). The truck driving training facility will occupy approximately 227,000 sq. ft. of space on the now vacant parking lot. The proposed space will also include a portable office and portable restrooms.
2. 6682 LLC currently owns the subject parking lot property located at 900 Block S. 63 St., West Allis, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin more particularly described as follows:
All that land of the owner being located in the Southeast 1/4 of Section 34, Township 7 North, Range 21 East, City of West Allis, Milwaukee County, State of Wisconsin describes as follows:
Lot 2 of the Certified Survey Map No. 8860.

3. The trucking driving training facility would enroll anyone seeking to acquire their Commercial Driver's License.
