Resolution authorizing the City Engineer to execute a cost sharing project agreement for the reconstruction of the alley between W. Arthur Ave., W. Harrison Ave., S. 65 St., and S. 66 St. of which the City of West Allis' share is $17,000
Body
WHEREAS, Wisconsin Statues Section 66.0301 authorizes any municipality to enter into an Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement with another municipality for, among other things, the joint exercise of any power authorized by law; and,
Whereas, This alley was constructed in 1954 and is in need of reconstruction; and
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee and City of West Allis share jurisdictional ownership of the east west leg and will share the construction costs; and
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee will be the lead agency of the project design and construction; and
WHEREAS, the City of West Allis and the City of Milwaukee desire to enter into an Agreement to set forth their understanding with respect to the construction of the aforesaid public improvements; and
WHEREAS, On November 19, 2019 the Common Council approved the 2020 Capital Improvement Program, dated November 5, 2019, as amended on November 12, 2019 and approved the funding in R-2019-0850, and
WHEREAS, On March 3, 2020 the Common Council approved the fund transfer for this project in R-2020-0133 and also approved amending the 2020 Capital Improvement Program to include this project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the Agreement by and between the City of West Allis and the City of Milwaukee, a copy of which is attached hereto and by reference made a part hereof, for the installation of certain public improvements in the Alley between W. Arthur Av., W. Harrison Av., S. 65th St., and S. 66th St. be and is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver the aforesaid Agreement on behalf of the City of West Allis.
