Resolution ratifying the emergency purchase the Fire Chief executed with Bauer Compressor and Jefferson Fire and Safety, per the Mayor's authorization, on March 26, 2020, for emergency replacement of the Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus Compressor at the West Allis Fire Department Station #2 in the amount of $65,533.73

WHEREAS, Bauer Compressor provides GSA pricing for the City; and,
WHEREAS, Jefferson Fire and Safety is the local representative authorized to sell and install Bauer compressors; and,
WHEREAS, on March 16, 2020, the compressor was in need of emergency electrical repair; and,
WHEREAS, it was determined the City's electricians could not perform such a repair; and,
WHEREAS, due to the age of the compressor, replacement parts are no longer available; and,
WHEREAS, replacement of the unit is required in order to assure that West Allis Fire and EMS staff have the ability to perform their job duties while operating in an atmosphere that is immediately dangerous to life and health .
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that $65,533.73 is hereby ratified, for the purchase of a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus Compressor from Bauer Compressing and installation services with accessories as submitted by Jefferson Fire and Safety, with funding coming from the 354-6053-523.70-03, CIP-Buildings and Facilities, General Capital Projects, Public Safety, Capital Items, Equipment. Project #BF0023.
