Resolution to approve actions relating to personnel policies and service delivery
Body
WHEREAS, the world is currently experiencing a novel coronavirus ("COVID - 19") outbreak; and
WHEREAS, COVID-19, a respiratory disease that can result in serious illness or death, is caused by a virus easily spread from person to person; and
WHEREAS, this emergency was declared a pandemic by the World Health Organization on March 11, 2020; and
WHEREAS on March 13, 2020 the President of the United States declared the United States to be in a state of emergency; and
WHEREAS Mayor Devine declared an emergency on March 14, 2020 and the Common Council is considering a “Resolution to declare an emergency existing in the City due to the COVID-19 Pandemic”; and
WHEREAS, in extraordinary measures are required to protect the public health, safety and welfare of the City of West Allis' residents and employees; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the attached actions related to personnel policies and service delivery are approved and the appropriate staff members be and are hereby authorized to take action necessary to implement such.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Mayor and/or City Administrator are authorized to take further steps as situations arise, with the Common Council being informed of substantive actions that may be taken.
