Title

Resolution authorizing the purchase of two (2) 2020 AWD Ford Police Interceptor Utility SUV squad cars from Ewald Automotive Group and associated ancillary items, such as light bars, sirens, etc. from various vendors for a sum not to exceed $80,000

 

Body

WHEREAS, the City of West Allis Police Department has been notified that the final order date for 2020 Ford Utility Interceptor SUV’s has been moved up to April 3rd, 2020; and

 

WHEREAS, $80,000 has been approved as part 2020 City Budget for Marked Squads, and the necessary accessories to outfit them for use; and

 

WHEREAS, Ewald Automotive Group, the State of Wisconsin contract holder Contract # 505ENT-M19-2019VEHICS-03, has provided pricing for 2020 police-issue government  vehicles, and the cost of a 2020 AWD Ford Police Interceptor Utility SUV  is approximately $34,000.00 per vehicle; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Police and Fire Commission is expected to approve the purchase of these vehicles and the needed accessories at their meeting on March 19th, 2020.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that the West Allis Police Department, upon further approval by the Police and Fire Commission, that two (2) 2020 AWD Ford Police Interceptor Utility SUV squad cars will be ordered from Ewald Automotive Group  for a total net sum not to exceed $80,000.00. Funding for this purchase is available in the 2020 Budget, and these purchases will be charged to Account Number 100-2101-521-70.02, Police Vehicles.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Purchasing Division be and is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for the aforesaid vehicles.
