Resolution to approve an Equipment Use Agreement allowing West Allis to lend 10 Badger Book devices to the City of Greenfield for the spring election

WHEREAS, City of Greenfield Clerk’s Office was expecting to receive their next shipment of Badger Book e-poll books from the vendor; and
WHEREAS, due to the COVID-19 epidemic in certain parts of the world, the vendor has been unable to receive parts to finish building the Badger Book devices; and
WHEREAS, this issue has affected the supply Statewide; and
WHEREAS, the Wisconsin Elections Commission has ran out of devices to loan out to municipalities; and
WHEREAS, City of Greenfield Clerk’s Office has reached out to City of West Allis Clerk’s Office to inquire about leasing Badger Book devices; and
WHEREAS, City of West Allis has unused Badger Book devices that were not intended to be used until the August 11 election and are thus available; and
WHEREAS, City of West Allis Clerk wishes to extend help to City of Greenfield Clerk and loan ten (10) unused Badger Book devices so they can operate a polling site with these devices at the April 7, 2020 election; and
WHEREAS, City of Greenfield Clerk’s Office has agreed to pay the City of West Allis the amount of $335.58, which is equivalent to the cost of the totes that were purchased to store the devices.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the attached Use Agreement between the City of West Allis and the City of Greenfield to rent 10 Badger Book devices at a cost of $335.58 be approved.
