Resolution to accept the sole source proposal of Badger Meter for providing Beacon Meter Reading Software and Hardware for a total sum of $28,781.60

WHEREAS, the Water Division has reported that it has received a proposal for Beacon Software and Trimble Hardware for the Badger Meter Orion Endpoints; and,

 

WHEREAS, current software and hardware is becoming obsolete due to a change in Badger Meter Orion Endpoints; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Common Council deems it to be in the best interests of the City of West Allis that the proposal of Badger Meter for Beacon Software and Hardware be accepted; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Department of Public Works has determined that this contract is inappropriate for competitive selection because Badger Meter is the only company that can provide Reading Software compatible with the Orion Endpoints and also with Central Square Financial Software.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that the proposal dated May 5, 2019 submitted by Badger Meter for providing Beacon Meter Reading Software and Hardware for the Orion Endpoints on Badger Meters for the sum of $28,781.60 be and is hereby accepted.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that funding for this purchase has been budgeted and funds are available in account number 501-2801-537-3204 (Water Utility, Customer Accounts Expenses, Maintenance Contracts).

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Water Division be and is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for the aforesaid software and hardware.
