Resolution relative to relocating the polling place for the Ninth Ward of the Second Aldermanic District from the McCarty Park Pavilion to the West Allis Senior Center for the Spring 2020 Primary and General Elections

WHEREAS, the McCarty Park Pavilion is currently the assigned voting location for Ward Nine of the Second Aldermanic District; and
WHEREAS, Milwaukee County Parks notified the City Clerk that it will temporarily be unable to serve as a polling site on February 18, 2020; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to relocate the polling place temporarily to another acceptable site; and
WHEREAS, the use of the West Allis Senior Center effectively serves the needs of the electorate, it is located near the Ninth Ward of the Second Aldermanic District and can be accommodated as a polling place with minimal preparation; and
WHEREAS, the West Allis Senior Center has agreed to cooperate with the City for this purpose; and
WHEREAS, even though McCarty Park would be available for the 2020 Spring General Election, it is advisable to keep the same polling location for the primary and general elections.
NOW, THERFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the polling place for the Ninth Ward of the Second Aldermanic District shall be changed from the McCarty Park Pavilion to the West Allis Senior Center, and said location is hereby designated as the temporary polling place for the Ninth Ward of the Second Aldermanic District.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the aforementioned change will be in effect for the February 18, 2020 and April 7, 2020 elections, after which the Ward Nine polling site will relocate back to the McCarty Park Pavilion.
