Resolution relative to relocating the polling place for the Tenth Ward of the Second Aldermanic District from the Recreation Center to the West Allis Senior Center and the Twentieth Ward of the Fourth Aldermanic District from the Recreation Center to the Beloit Road Senior Housing Clubhouse for the Spring 2020 Primary and General Elections

WHEREAS, the Recreation Center is currently the assigned voting location for Ward Ten of the Second Aldermanic District and Ward Twenty of the Fourth Aldermanic District; and
WHEREAS, the Recreation Center notified the City Clerk that it will temporarily be unable to serve as a polling place through April 2020; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary to relocate the polling place temporarily to other acceptable sites; and
WHEREAS, the use of the West Allis Senior Center, 7100 W. National Ave., effectively serves the needs of the electorate, it is located near the Tenth Ward of the Second Aldermanic District and can be accommodated as a polling place with minimal preparation; and
WHEREAS, the West Allis Senior Center has agreed to cooperate with the City for this purpose; and
WHEREAS, the use of the Beloit Road Senior Housing Clubhouse, 2505 S. 72 St., effectively serves the needs of the electorate, it is located near the Twentieth Ward of the Fourth Aldermanic District and can be accommodated as a polling place with minimal preparation; and
WHEREAS, the Beloit Road Senior Housing Clubhouse has agreed to cooperate with the City for this purpose; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the polling place for the Tenth Ward of the Second Aldermanic District shall be changed from the Recreation Center to the West Allis Senior Center, 7100 W. National Ave., and said location is hereby designated as the temporary polling place for the Tenth Ward of the Second Aldermanic District.
