Resolution to authorize the unscheduled engine replacement of Vehicle #1498, a 10 yard sewer jet/hydro vacuum unit, by Wisconsin Kenworth of Oak Creek for the sum of $33,391.38 and to authorize a transfer of $13,855.38 from the Sewer Utility Capital Items/Equipment account to the Maintenance Account to facilitate the unbudgeted repair

WHEREAS, the engine replacement for Vehicle #1498 was not a scheduled repair or budgeted item in the 2019 Sewer Utility Repair and Maintenance/Vehicles account; and,
WHEREAS, the engine failed unexpectedly; and,
WHEREAS, the Fleet Superintendent received three quotes to replace the engine of vehicle 1498; and,
WHEREAS, the quote received from Wisconsin Kenworth of Oak Creek, the lowest quote of three, provided pricing for the replacement of one long block engine for $33,391.38 for Vehicle #1498 was selected; and,
WHEREAS, funds for this repair are available due to the cancellation of Sanitary and Sewer Maintenance Repair in the Utility Capital Items/Equipment account 510-3801-536.70-03 of $13,855.38 which can be transferred to the Sewer Utility Repair & Maintenance /Vehicles account; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City of West Allis the quote received from Wisconsin Kenworth of Oak Creek be accepted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that the quote dated November 21, 2019 submitted by Wisconsin Kenworth of Oak Creek replacing the engine for 1498 for the cost of $33,391.38 be and is hereby accepted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a budget transfer of unused funds, within the Sewer Utility, in the amount of $13,855.38 from the Sewer Utility Capital Items/Vehicles, Account Number 510-3801-536.70-03, to the Sewer Utility Repair & Maintenance/Vehicles account number 510-3801-536.44-03, be and is hereby authorized.
