Resolution authorizing the City Engineer to amend an existing Professional Services Contract with R.A. Smith, Inc. to provide Traffic Engineering Services for the City of West Allis Engineering Department for an amount not to exceed $28,400

WHEREAS, the City has an existing Professional Services Contract with R.A. Smith, Inc. for Traffic Engineering Services in the amount of $115,600; and,
WHEREAS, due to the lack of in house staff with a traffic engineering background, the City will need further assistance from R.A. Smith, Inc. for various traffic engineering projects, including a traffic signal warrant study at the S. 76th Street intersection with W. Lapham Street as well as to conduct traffic studies at other locations; and,
WHEREAS, the funds to be used for this project have been included in the 2020 adopted budget.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that the proposal dated October 25, 2019 submitted by R.A Smith, Inc. to furnish Engineering Consulting Services for various traffic engineering services for an amount not to exceed $28,400 be and is hereby accepted. Funding for this purchase has been budgeted and is available in the 2020 Capital Project Fund, and the services will be charged to Account Number 350-6008-531.30-02.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Engineer be and is hereby authorized to enter into an amended Professional Services Contract with R.A Smith, Inc. for Engineering Consulting Services.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Engineer be and is hereby authorized to make such substantive changes, modifications, additions and deletions to and from the various provisions of the proposal from R.A. Smith, Inc. as may be necessary and proper to correct inconsistencies, eliminate ambiguity and otherwise clarify and supplement said provisions to preserve and maintain the general intent thereof and to protect the interests of the City, including but not limited to, any and...
