TITLE

Resolution to approve intergovernmental agreement with City of Milwaukee to provide protective services for the 2020 Democratic National Convention

 

BODY

WHEREAS, the City of Milwaukee requested assistance from the City of West Allis to provide protective services during the 2020 Democratic National Convention between July 13 and July 16, 2020; and

           

WHEREAS, the City of West Allis is capable of providing the assistance requested before, during, and after the convention; and

 

WHEREAS, the agreement also includes the City of Milwaukee compensating the City of West Allis for performing those services;

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the attached Intergovernmental Agreement for Fire & Other Protection Services for the 2020 Democratic National Convention in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, be and is hereby approved.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor, City Administrator, and City Clerk are hereby authorized and directed to execute and deliver said agreement on behalf of the City.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Attorney be and is hereby authorized to make such nonsubstantive changes, modifications, additions and deletions to and from the various provisions of the contract, including any and all attachments, exhibits, addendums and amendments, as may be necessary and proper to correct inconsistencies, eliminate ambiguity and otherwise clarify and supplement said provisions to preserve and maintain the general intent thereof, and to prepare and deliver such other and further documents as may be reasonably necessary to complete the transactions contemplated therein.
