Title

Resolution relative to accepting the sole source proposal of $19,500 from Engineered Installation Solutions LLC to install an Outdoor Fitness Court at Veterans Park located at 70th and National Ave.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the City of West Allis has submitted a Grant Application to National Fitness Campaign for the construction of an outdoor Fitness Court®, which is free for public use; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of West Allis will accept a $30,000 National Grant from National Fitness Campaign to promote and implement an outdoor Fitness Court®; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of West Allis will secure additional funding, which will be available and committed to this program, including a $20,000 donation previously received from the Aurora West Allis Medical Center Service Club, and $140,617 in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding redirected from the Kopperud Park project to Veterans (Vets) Park, in order to construct and maintain the outdoor Fitness Court®; and

WHEREAS, The Engineering Department reports that it duly advertised for bids for installing an Outdoor Fitness Court at Veterans Park and that the only bid received for installing an Outdoor Fitness Court at Veterans Park was higher than the proposal received from Engineered Installation Solutions LLC for the installation of the Outdoor Fitness Park; and,

WHEREAS, the Engineering Department has also determined that this contract with Engineering Installation Solutions LLC is in the best interests of the City of West Allis because the official installation partner of National Fitness Campaign LLC is Engineered Installation Solutions LLC.  Engineered Installation Solutions LLC offers services to install compatible fitness flooring (materials provided by NFC) and assemble and install of The Fitness Court® equipment (materials provided by NFC) and that no other vendor is the officially recommended installation partner of NFC.; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Common Council deems it to be in the best interests of the City of West Allis that the proposal from Engineered Installation Solutions LLC to install an Outdoor Fitness Court at Veterans Park be accepted; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of West Allis will commit to construction and launch of the outdoor Fitness Court® at Vets Park by the end of the 2019 calendar year.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the proposal submitted by Engineered Installation Solutions LLC for the total sum of $19,500 to install an Outdoor Fitness Court at Veterans Park be and is hereby accepted.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all project costs, which total $190,100, will be charged to Account No. 353-6013-552.31-01, Capital Projects Fund/Parks, Project Activities.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Engineer is authorized to sign and execute all necessary documents for the completion of the project.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Attorney be and is hereby authorized to make such

non-substantive changes, modifications, additions, and deletions to and from the various provisions of the agreement, including any and all attachments, exhibits, addendums and amendments, as may be necessary and proper to correct inconsistencies, eliminate ambiguity and otherwise clarify and supplement said provisions to preserve and maintain the general intent thereof, and to prepare and deliver such other and further documents as may be reasonably necessary to complete the transactions contemplated therein.
