Title

Ordinance to amend the City of West Allis Salary Schedule due to the 2019 Adopted Budget action; and the following classification and compensation changes - amending the salary grade for the position of Plumber; removing the positions of Building and Electrical Inspector; amending the title of Commercial and Residential Inspectors; creating the positions of Assistant City Administrator/Director of Talent and Strategy and Public Safety IT Supervisor.

Body

The Common Council of the City of West Allis do ordain as follows:

PART I.  The City of West Allis Salary Schedule (most recently amended by Ordinance No. O-2019-0006) shall be amended as follows:

Annual Adjustment for all grades - Each of the salary grades of non-represented employees are increased by two-percent (2%), as per the attached file. 

Amend Salary Grade:

Plumber, from Grade G to Grade I - Non-exempt

Amend Titles:

From Commercial Building Inspector to Commercial Construction Inspector

From Residential Building Inspector to Residential Construction Inspector

Delete:

Building Inspector

Electrical Inspector

(all inspectors will now be hired as either Commercial or Residential Construction Inspectors)

Add:

Assistant City Administrator/Director of Talent and Strategy - Salary Grade R - Exempt

Public Safety IT Supervisor - Salary Grade K - Exempt

PART II. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

PART III. This ordinance shall take effect as of July 28, 2019.
