Title

Resolution ratifying the emergency purchase the City Engineer executed with Friess Environmental Consulting, Inc. for Emergency Environmental Consulting on S. 80th Street from W. Greenfield Avenue to W. National Avenue in the Amount of $15,270.38.

Body

WHEREAS, On May 6, 2019 a 1,000 gallon fuel tank was removed from the City of West Allis Right of Way on South 80th Street at West Greenfield Avenue; and,

WHEREAS, Section 2.682, Emergency Purchase, of the City of West Allis Revised Municipal Code, empowers the Mayor to declare an emergency and to authorize any Department Head to purchase equipment, supplies or other services that are necessary because of that emergency; and,

WHEREAS, after consulting with the City Engineer, the Mayor approved the emergency hiring of Friess Environmental Consulting, Inc. to perform testing and well sampling and soil sampling and photoionization of the soil around the removed tank at a cost of $15,270.38 to protect the safety of the general public; and,

WHEREAS, a Tank System Service And Closure Assessment Report has been submitted to the State of Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer Protection.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that up to $15,270.38 is hereby ratified for Friess Environmental Consulting, Inc. to perform testing and well sampling and soil sampling and photoionization and to prepare a Tank System Service And Closure Assessment Report with funding coming from the 2019 Capital Improvement Project Account 350-6008-531.31-01.
