Title

Resolution to amend Section 11.18 of City of West Allis Policy No. 1424 (Overtime, Compensatory Time, and Premium Pay) relating to compression pay differential for Police and Fire Department Sworn Non-Represented Employees. 

Body

WHEREAS, Section 11.18 - Compression Pay Differential for Police and Fire Department Sworn Non- Represented Employees was added to Policy No. 1424, Overtime, Compensatory Time, and Premium Pay, during the adoption and implementation of the Classification and Compensation Study in 2017 to address concern of pay compression for Sworn Non-Represented Employees of the Police and Fire Departments; and

WHEREAS, it is necessary to amend said policy to ensure that pay compression issues do not arise after each new contract with represented employees of the Police and Fire Departments is implemented.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that Policy No. 1424, Overtime, Compensatory Time, and Premium Pay, is approved as presented.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Administrator is authorized and directed to include the amended Policy No. 1424 in the City’s Policies & Procedures Manual and to distribute said policy to all departments, divisions, and offices.
