Resolution relative to determination of Special Use Permit for a proposed banquet facility to be located within a portion of an existing shopping center located at 2671 S. 76 St.

WHEREAS, Maria Rupena Karczewski, d/b/a Rupena's Foods, duly filed with the City Clerk an application for a Special Use Permit, pursuant to Sec. 12.16 and Sec. 12.42(2) of the Revised Municipal Code of the City of West Allis, to establish a banquet facility within a portion of an existing shopping center located at 2671 S. 76 St.; and,

WHEREAS, after due notice, a public hearing was held by the Common Council on December 4, 2018 at 7:00 p.m., in the Common Council Chambers to consider the application; and,

WHEREAS, the Common Council, having carefully considered the evidence presented at the public hearing and the following pertinent facts noted:

1. The applicant, Maria Rupena Karczewski, d/b/a Rupena's Foods, owns the property located at 2671 S. 76 St.

2. The proposed facility is approximately 5,468 sq. ft. and is located within the existing shopping center located at 2671 S. 76 St., West Allis, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, more particularly described as follows, to-wit:

All the land of the owner being located in the Southeast 1/4 and Northeast 1/4 of Section 9, Township 6 North, Range 21 East and Southeast 1/4 of Section 34, Township 7 North, Range 21 East City of West Allis, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, described as follows:

Lot 7 and part of Lot 6 in the Stone's Subdivision.

Tax Key No. 515-0046-000

Said land being located at 2671 S. 76 St.

3. The applicant proposes to establish a banquet facility, which will be used as an event space for weddings, birthdays, quincea?era, anniversaries, meetings, office and corporate parties, and other special occasions, with accommodations for up to 190 seated guests. The banquet facility will offer catering services, a full bar and coffee station.
