Title
Resolution relative to accepting the proposal of Barrier Security Systems for furnishing, delivering, and installing a new door lock system at the West Allis Senior Center, and provide additional door lock systems at seven other city buildings, for a total sum of $39,999.45.

Body
WHEREAS, up to $20,000 has been approved as part of the 2018 City IT Budget, and up to $30,000 has been approved as part of the 2017 CIP Carry Over Budget, allowing these funds to be used in 2018; and

WHEREAS, the Purchasing Department has reported that it has issued a Request for Proposal, and that the proposal received, and attached, is reasonable; and

WHEREAS, these door locking systems are being purchased to upgrade the Keri Door Lock systems at the following city buildings: Senior Center, Fire Station 1, Fire Station 2, Fire Station 3, Health Department, Police Sub-Station, Public Works Department, and the Police Department to provide monitoring and controlling access to these buildings; and

WHEREAS, the Common Council deems it to be in the best interests of the City of West Allis that the proposal of Barrier Security Systems be accepted.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that the proposal, dated August 13, 2018, submitted by Barrier Security Systems for furnishing and installing a new door locking system at the Senior Center, and provide additional door lock systems to current systems already installed at seven other City buildings, and provide an additional 315 each proximity key tags for a total sum of $39,999.45, in accordance with City of West Allis RFP-18-017, with funding for this purchase to be provided by the 2017 Carryover, in the amount of $30,000, and the 2018 IT Budget, in the amount of $9,999.45, for a total net sum of $39,999.45; and the purchase will be charged to Account No. 100-1102-517.70-08, General Fund, IT Capital Items, Hardware, be and is hereby accepted.
