Resolution relative to amending four City of West Allis Policies & Procedures Manual Policies Nos. 2001, 2002, 2006, 2011, and 2013, and repealing eight City of West Allis Policies and Procedures Manual Nos. 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2012.

WHEREAS, Policy No. 2001, Permit Applications; Policy No. 2002, Building Permits: New One or Two-Family Dwellings; Policy No. 2003, Building Permits: Additions to One or Two-Family Dwellings; Policy No. 2004, Building Permits: Interior Alterations to One or Two-Family Dwellings; Policy No. 2005, Building Permits: New Apartments (3 or More Units) Commercial, Industrial & Public Buildings, 5,000 sq. ft. of Gross Area or Less; Policy No. 2006, Building Permits: New Apartments (3 or More Units) Commercial, Industrial & Public Buildings, Over 5,000 sq. ft. of Gross Area; Policy No. 2007, Building Permits: Additions to Apartments (3 or More Units) Commercial, Industrial & Public Buildings, Less Than 5,000 sq. ft. of Gross Area, Including Existing Areas; Policy No. 2008, Building Permits: Additions to Apartments (3 or More Units) Commercial, Industrial & Public Buildings, Over 5,000 sq. ft. of Gross Area, Including Existing Areas; Policy No. 2009, Building Permits: Interior Alterations of Less than 10,000 sq. ft. in Area to Apartments, Commercial, Industrial and Institutional Buildings; Policy No. 2010, Building Permits: Interior Alterations of More than 10,000 sq. ft. in Area to Apartments, Commercial, Industrial and Institutional Buildings; and Policy No. 2011, Miscellaneous General Responsibilities and Procedures were originally included in the City of West Allis Policies & Procedures Manual in January 1982 and January 1998, respectively; and
WHEREAS, Policy No. 2012, Moving City Owned Buildings; and Policy No. 2013, Razing Buildings Not Public were originally included in the City of West Allis Policies & Procedures Manual in January 1982 and April 2013, respectively; and
WHEREAS, in order to ensure a consistent procedure for the processing of building permits, and to ensure proper steps are taken when processing permits through other departments, to ensure that proper procedures are followed to raze buildings, and to update out-of-date procedures for modern codes and technologies it is necessary to amend said policies at this time.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that Policy Nos. 2001, 2002, 2006, 2011, and 2013, are approved as presented in the attached restatement, and Policy Nos. 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2012 are repealed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Administrator is authorized and directed to include the amended Policy Nos. 2001, 2002, 2006, 2011, and 2013 in the City of West Allis Policies & Procedures Manual and distribute said policy to all departments, divisions, and offices as necessary, and remove Policy Nos. 2003, 2004, 2005, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, and 2012 from the City of West Allis Policies & Procedures Manual.
