Resolution authorizing the Director of Public Works to amend an existing Contract with Baxter & Woodman, Inc. for Engineering Consulting Services related to the creation of a hydraulic model of the water distribution system.

WHEREAS, the West Allis Common Council adopted the 2017-2021 City of West Allis Strategic Plan on January 17, 2017 (R2017-0003) which included the goal to “Continue to develop city-wide technology opportunities and utilization of software to ensure efficient and effective use of government resources”; and,

 

WHEREAS, the City has an existing agreement with Baxter & Woodman Inc. in the amount of $40,000 to provide a comprehensive evaluation and report on the condition of the City’s reservoir and booster pump station located at 1725 S. 96th Street and the pump station at 1981 S. 84th Street; and

 

WHEREAS, the City will need further assistance from Baxter and Woodman, Inc. to produce a hydraulic model of the water distribution system to be used for fire flow information, unidirectional hydrant flushing, and engineering design and evaluation purposes.

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that the existing agreement with Baxter & Woodman, Inc. be amended to include the creation of Water Modeling Software for the City, in an amount not to exceed $40,000.00, is hereby approved subject to the City Attorney approving the form of the contract.  Funding for this project is available in the Water Utility Fund, and the purchase will be charged to Account No. 501-2707-537.30-02, Professional Services, Consulting.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Director of Public Works be and is hereby authorized to enter into an amended Professional Services Contract  with Baxter & Woodman Inc. for Engineering Consulting Services.
