Resolution authorizing the Interim City Engineer to amend an existing contract with Globe Contractors Inc. for Emergency Repairs to the Sanitary Sewer in W. Greenfield Avenue from S. 72nd to S. 74th Streets in the Amount of $166,706.00.
Body
WHEREAS, it has been found that there are problems with the integrity of the sanitary sewer underneath W. Greenfield Avenue from S. 72nd to S. 74th Streets; and,
WHEREAS, Section 2.682, Emergency Purchase, of the City of West Allis Revised Municipal Code, empowers the Mayor to declare an emergency and to authorize any Department Head to purchase equipment, supplies or other services that are necessary because of that emergency; and,
WHEREAS, On July 11, 2017 the Common Council of the City of West Allis accepted the bid of Globe Contractors, Inc. and authorized contractual relations with said contractor for the installation of storm sewer and sanitary sewer relay as part of City of West Allis 2017 Project No. 12: and,
WHEREAS, after consulting with the Interim City Engineer, the Mayor approved the emergency hiring of Globe Contractors, Inc. to relay the collapsing sanitary sewer under Greenfield Avenue at a cost of $166,706.00 to protect the safety of the citizens of West Allis.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the proposal of Globe Contractors, Inc. for the installation of sanitary sewer relay in:
West Greenfield Avenue from South 72nd Street to South 74th Street

for the sum of One Hundred Sixty Six Thousand, Seven Hundred Six and 00/100 dollars ($166,706.00) be accepted, and the proper City officers are hereby authorized and directed to enter into contractual relations with said contractor for the performance of said work, in accordance with the prices submitted in their proposal and with the specifications of the City of West Allis.
