Resolution authorizing the purchase of one (1) 2018 AWD Ford Police Interceptor Sedan (Unmarked) and one (1) 2018 Ford T-250 Transit Van (Unmarked), from Ewald Automotive Group, and associated ancillary items from various vendors for a sum not to exceed $67,000.00.

WHEREAS, $37,500.00 has been approved as part of the 2018 City Capital Improvement Program (CIP)/Budget, and $29,500.00, also included in the 2018 Budget, is being used from the Equitable Sharing Funds for Police specialty vehicles and the necessary accessories to outfit them for use; and
WHEREAS, Ewald Automotive Group, the State of Wisconsin contract holder, has provided pricing for 2018 police-issue government vehicles, and the cost for the two replacement vehicles with accessories is approximately $67,000.00; and
WHEREAS, the Police and Fire Commission approved the purchase of these unmarked vehicles and the needed accessories at its meeting on December 21, 2017.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that the proposal dated November 8, 2017, submitted by Ewald Automotive Group, for furnishing and delivering one (1) 2018 AWD Ford Utility Interceptor Sedan for $24,676.00 and one (1) 2018 Ford T-250 Transit Van for $31,504.00, and, in addition, approximately $10,000.00 total for both vehicles for various safety features and accessories, to be ordered for a total net sum not to exceed $67,000.00, be and is hereby accepted. Funding for this purchase is available in the 2018 Budget from two sources: $37,500.00 from 2017 Budget Carryover as authorized in the 2018 CIP and $29,500.00 in the Evidence Fund, which will be combined to make this purchase. This purchase will be charged to Account Numbers 352-2101-521.70-03, Capital Equipment-Police ($37,500), and 214-0801-521.64-05 ($29,500), Federal Equitable Sharing-Police Vehicles.
