Title
Resolution authorizing the submission of a Community Development Investment (CDI) Grant Application to Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) for the renovation of the property located at 7140 W. Greenfield Avenue.

WHEREAS, the City of West Allis, Wisconsin (the "City") recognizes the importance to support collaborative Downtown improvement efforts to continue to foster the development of 7140 W. Greenfield Ave., as a Main Street destination, as identified in Objective 8 of the City's "2030 Comprehensive Plan;" and,

WHEREAS, the Community Development Investment (CDI) grant program provides incentives for shovel-ready projects with emphasis on, but not limited to, downtown community-driven efforts that should lead to measurable benefits in job opportunities, property values and/or leveraged investment by local and private partners; and,

WHEREAS, Evenement, LLC (the "Developer") proposes to significantly renovate the property located at 7140 W. Greenfield Avenue, Parcel No. 440-0310-000 and has requested the City to submit a CDI grant to assist with project costs; and,

WHEREAS, a Resolution authorizing the submission of a grant application by the Mayor is a prerequisite for submission of a CDI grant application; and,

WHEREAS, a CDI grant potentially offers up to $250,000 in grant funds to support the project; and,

WHEREAS, in this action by the Common Council of the City of West Allis, has declared its intent to complete the CDI grant activities described in the Grant application if awarded funds; and,

WHEREAS, the City, with the assistance of the Developer, will maintain and submit semi-annual fiscal and narrative reports until completion of the project that documents the overall project performance metrics.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis, as follows:
