Title

Resolution relative to transferring $52,100.00 from the Contingency Fund to the Police Department Automotive Capital Account for replacement of two (2) damaged Police Squad Cars.

 

Body

WHEREAS, two Police Department squad cars were involved in serious crashes this year resulting in significant damage to both vehicles; and

 

WHEREAS, upon inspection of the vehicles by the Police Department's Mechanic and representatives of the insurance companies involved in each incident, both vehicles have been deemed total losses and in need of being replaced; and

 

WHEREAS, since these vehicles will not be replaced through insurance in the near future, it is important that replacement vehicles are purchased as soon as possible to accommodate the fleet needs of Police staff; and

 

WHEREAS, when settlement is reached, and the City is eventually reimbursed through insurance or other means, the Contingency Fund will be reimbursed at that time.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that $52,100.00 be and is hereby transferred from the Contingency Fund to the Police Automotive Account to fund the replacement of two (2) damaged squad cars.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Contingency Fund will be repaid a like sum when reimbursement is received through insurance or other means.
