Resolution to amend the City’s Policies & Procedures Manual No. 1318 relating to On-Call Policy.
Body
WHEREAS, the City of West Allis Policies & Procedure No. 1318, On-Call Policy was adopted by the Common Council on December 1, 2015, to ensure continuity of services supported by the Information Technology/Center for Excellence (IT/CFE) Department; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council recently adopted the Classification and Compensation Study recommendations which included the classification of employees as exempt or non-exempt according to the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA); and,
WHEREAS, the current City of West Allis Policies & Procedure No. 1318, On-Call Policy provides additional compensation for only non-exempt employees; and,
WHEREAS, qualified FLSA exempt and non-exempt employees must be utilized to support the continuity of services provided by the IT/CFE and the City of West Allis Policies & Procedure No. 1318, On-Call Policy has been updated to accommodate such needs; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that City of West Allis Policies & Procedure No. 1318, On-Call Policy is approved as presented in the attached.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Administrator is authorized and directed to include the amended Policy No. 1318 in the City of West Allis Policies & Procedures manual and distribute said policy to all departments, divisions, and offices.
