Title

Resolution authorizing the acquisition of the former 1.001 acre parcel (former Roosevelt School Playground) from the West Allis-West Milwaukee School District property at located at 9** S. 60 St.  (438-1301-000).

 

Body

WHEREAS, the City of West Allis is interested in advancing neighborhood park improvements per the adopted West Allis Comprehensive Park and Outdoor Recreation Plan (the “Plan”); and,

 

WHEREAS, the former Roosevelt School was demolished and the western portion of the former Roosevelt school, approximate 2.2051 acre sold to accommodate the construction of the Whole Health Clinic at 932 S. 60th St.; and,

 

WHEREAS, the 1.001 acre property located at 9** S 60 St. is currently a playground in need of improvements; and,

 

WHEREAS, the Plan recommends the need for a neighborhood park and park improvements in this neighborhood. 

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the Director of Development is hereby authorized to acquire for one dollar ($1.00) per the attached Offer to Purchase and Quit Claim deed from the West Allis/West Milwaukee School District for the purchase price of 1.001 acre property located at 9** S. 60 St.  (438-1301-000) (former Roosevelt School Playground).

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Attorney be and is hereby authorized to make such substantive changes, modifications, additions and deletions to and from the various provisions of the Agreement, including any and all attachments, exhibits, addendums and amendments, as may be necessary and proper to correct inconsistencies, eliminate ambiguity and otherwise clarify and supplement said provisions to preserve and maintain the general intent thereof, and to prepare and deliver such other and further documents as may be reasonably necessary to complete the transactions contemplated therein.
