Title

Resolution relative to amending the City of West Allis Policies & Procedures Manual Policy No. 1424, Overtime, Compensatory Time and Premium Pay. 

 

Body

WHEREAS, Policy No. 1424, Overtime, Compensatory Time and Premium Pay, was originally included in the City of West Allis Policies & Procedures Manual on January 1, 1982, and recently  repealed and recreated on April 18, 2017, as part of the implementation of the Compensation and Classification Study Recommendations; and

 

WHEREAS, the recommendation to address compression issues in the Police and Fire Departments was removed from the implementation package with the possibility of addressing it at a future date; and

 

WHEREAS, in order to ensure that the candidates desiring promotion to sworn non-represented positions in the Police and Fire Departments are the most qualified and a compensation difference is maintained between represented and non-represented employees, it is the goal of the Common Council to preserve at 5-10% compensation difference, with an initial recommendation of 7.5%.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that Policy No. 1424, Overtime, Compensatory Time and Premium Pay, is approved as amended in the attached.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Administrator is directed to update such policy and distribute to all departments, divisions and offices.
