Resolution to direct the Community Development Authority of the City of West Allis to proceed with the demolition of the property located at 7030 W. National Ave.
Body
WHEREAS, the property at 7030 W. National Ave. is abandoned and in disrepair causing a major blighting influence on the neighborhood; and,
WHEREAS, the City of West Allis was issued a raze order based on the building conditions by Milwaukee Circuit Court in October of 2013; and,
WHEREAS, the Common Council through the adoption of Tax Increment District Number Fourteen (68th and Mitchell) and an amendment to Tax Increment District Number Seven (Summit Place) allocated funds for demolition or rehabilitation work activities that are within ½ mile of the tax increment district boundaries; and,
WHEREAS, the Community Development Authority of the City of West Allis manages the allocation of funds associated with the City’s tax increment finance districts, and the demolition of the 7030 W. National Ave. is an eligible expense.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Common Council of the City of West Allis hereby directs the Community Development Authority of the City of West Allis to proceed with demolition of property at 7030 W. National Ave.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that costs associated with the demolition should be appropriated with funds from Tax Increment District Number Fourteen (68th & Mitchell) and Tax Increment District Number Seven (Summit Place).
