Resolution relative to amending City of West Allis Policies and Procedures Manual Policy No. 1468, Vehicle Operation, Driving Policy and Mileage Reimbursement.
Body
WHEREAS, Policy No. 1468, Vehicle Operation, Driving Policy and Mileage Reimbursement, was originally included in the City of West Allis Policies and Procedures Manual on May 6, 2003, and last revised on December 18, 2012; and
WHEREAS, in the summer of 2015, the Mayor and Common Council approved a trial program to repurpose former police squad cars as vehicles to be used by Building Inspections and Neighborhood Services (BINS) inspectors while conducting City business; and
WHEREAS, after the trial period, the Administration and Finance Committee directed staff to expand the program further and assign vehicles based on high mileage users and update the related vehicle policy.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that Policy No. 1468, Vehicle Operation, Driving Policy and Mileage Reimbursement, is approved as presented in the attached.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City Administrator is authorized and directed to amend said policy and distribute said policy to all departments, divisions and offices.
