Title
Resolution authorizing $25,000 from the Community & Economic Development Investment Fund for Enhancing Mental Health Services and Support at the Aurora West Allis Medical Center Primary Care Clinics.

Body
WHEREAS, from a historical perspective, when Aurora West Allis Medical Center (AWAMC) was organized in the late 1950's, the main goal in the construction of our community hospital was to provide a primary health care facility for West Allis, followed by a full service Emergency Room to service immediate health care needs. Both goals have been strongly met.

WHEREAS, the Community and Economic Development of the Mental Health Services and Support at AWAMC will continue to maximize the ongoing availability of quality access to Mental Health Services in West Allis. The capital improvement being proposed is the conversion of a conference room into a group therapy/support room. The room could be used by the support group, which is included as part of the overall proposal, for family members and friends who have had a loved one who died as a result of opioid/heroin substance abuse; and,

WHEREAS, the increased access to mental health services within their Primary Care Clinics will provide support services for families who have experienced a death as a result of opioid/heroin substance abuse; and,

WHEREAS, the Aurora West Allis Medical Center Board of Directors and the Foundation Development Coordinator have requested a $25,000 donation; and,

WHEREAS, the Aurora West Allis Hospital has a tremendous economic impact within the city of West Allis.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that $25,000 is hereby approved from the Community & Economic Development Investment Fund, aka the FIRE Whitnall Summit Fund for Enhancing Mental Health Services and Support at Aurora West Allis Medical Center Primary Care Clinics.
