Resolution relative to changing a part of the membership of the Block Grant Committee.
Body
WHEREAS, Resolution No. 19200, adopted as amended on March 21, 1978, established members of the Community Development Act Committee, and Resolution No. 23669, adopted on May 5, 1992, renamed the committee to the Block Grant Committee (the “Committee”); and
WHEREAS, the established Committee members include an appointed member of the League of Women Voters; and
WHEREAS, the previous representation indicated a specific member from the League of Women Voters, and it is recommended by staff that the Committee would be better served with a general membership category; and
WHEREAS, the Community Development Department, which serves as staff support for the Block Grant Committee, recommends removal of the League of Women Voters member position from the Block Grant Committee and replace it with an At-Large Representative of the community, to be appointed by the Mayor.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the membership of the Block Grant Committee be changed to remove one (1) representative from the League of Women Voters and replace that membership with one (1) At-Large Representative, to be appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Common Council.
