Resolution to initiate the process of developing a strategic plan for the City of West Allis.
Body
WHEREAS, the Common Council of the City of West Allis, in conjunction with the Mayor, desires to undertake the process of developing a Strategic Plan (the “Plan”); and
WHEREAS, it is the purpose of the Plan to establish goals, priorities, objectives, and strategies for the next five years to meet the needs of the community and the organization; and
WHEREAS, goals could include service delivery and priorities, financial capacity, and community needs, among other considerations, to be established by the Common Council and Mayor; and
WHEREAS, it would be the intention of the Common Council and the Mayor that the Plan would be updated annually in conjunction with the budget process.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis:
1. That the Common Council and Mayor will commit to undertake the development of a Five Year Strategic Plan, with the input of Department Heads, citizens, and staff.
2. That an outside facilitator/consultant may be utilized to assist in the formation of the initial plan.
3. That the Common Council and Mayor will commit to find the monies necessary to fund such an initiative.
4. That the Common Council and Mayor will commit to updating the plan annually as part of the budget process.
