Title

Resolution relative to transferring $46,100 from the Fire Department Salary & Wages Account to the Repair & Maintenance-Other Account for the repair and upgrade of the Plymovent System in each Fire Station.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Fire Department will have excess funds in its Salary & Wages Account due to open positions in the department; and

 

WHEREAS, the Fire Department has received conditional approval from the Police and Fire Commission for the repair and upgrade of the Plymovent (vehicle exhaust) systems in all three fire stations at a cost of $46,100, pending Council approval of the funding transfer; and

 

WHEREAS, the Common Council deems it to be in the best interest of the City of West Allis that the funds be transferred so as to prevent excessive vehicle exhaust from being inhaled by employees and visitors; and

 

WHEREAS, the Fire Department has determined that this contract is inappropriate for competitive selection because Hastings is the exclusive provider of Plymovent equipment, parts, installation and repair for Wisconsin.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that $46,100 be transferred from the Fire Department Salary & Wages Account (100-2201-522.11-01) to the Repair & Maintenance-Other Account (100-2201-522.44-08) for the purpose of repairing and upgrading the Plymovent systems.
