Resolution relative to transferring up to $34,658 from the Reserve for Buildings and Facilities Improvements to the Capital Projects Fund for the installation of new carpet on the first floor of the Police Department headquarters.

WHEREAS, R-2016-0259 was approved by the Public Works Committee and the Common Council on November 1, 2016, accepting the proposal of Adair Commercial Flooring to install new carpet on the first floor of the Police Department at a cost of $73,500; and
WHEREAS, the original proposal included the lifting of all furniture; however, some of the office furniture is fixed to the floor or walls and requires disassembly; and
WHEREAS, Adair Commercial Flooring will disassemble and move the fixed furniture for an additional fee of $7,158; and
WHEREAS, the cost of the furniture disassembly and a portion of the original carpet installation ($27,500) is recommended to be funded by a transfer from the Reserve for Buildings and Facilities Improvements to the Capital Projects Fund; and
WHEREAS, transfers from reserve accounts require approval from the Administration and Finance Committee.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that a transfer of up to $34,658 from the Reserve for Buildings and Facilities Improvements to the Capital Projects Fund is hereby authorized to fund the necessary costs of carpet installation on the first floor of the Police Department headquarters.
