Resolution requesting authorization to list used fire apparatus for sale.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Fire Department has a used fire engine and two used ambulances for disposal; and

 

WHEREAS, the City of West Allis Revised Municipal Code Section 2.673 requires authorization from the Common Council to dispose of surplus equipment via a method other than competitive auction; and

 

WHEREAS, listing the used equipment for sale online maximizes the potential to receive a higher sales price compared to the auction method for this type of equipment.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Common Council of the City of West Allis that the Finance Department is authorized to list the used fire apparatus for sale.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Finance Department will work with the appropriate Fire Department staff and DPW-Fleet staff to determine a list price for the used equipment based on its fair market value.
