Title

Resolution authorizing and directing the Director of Public Works/City Engineer to contract with Design Build Solutions for roof replacement at the Jefferson School electrical transformer building in an amount not to exceed $21,500.

 

Body

WHEREAS, the Jefferson School electrical transformer building houses electrical facilities to energize the City’s street lighting system: and,

 

WHEREAS, the roof at the Jefferson School electrical transformer building needs replacement before the winter season; and,

 

WHEREAS, the roof has been patched as much as possible by Public Works staff; and,

 

WHEREAS, a roof failure allowing water to leak into the building could create a hazardous condition because of the electrical transformers and related electrical equipment located inside the building.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the Director of Public Works/City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to enter into a contract with Design Build Solutions to replace the roof and take any and all actions on behalf of the City of West Allis to protect this important facility.

 

BE IT FURTHER RESOVED that the appropriate City officials are authorized and directed to fund the project from the Capital Projects fund and from other appropriate City accounts if needed in order to complete the project as soon as possible.
