Title

Resolution authorizing and directing the Director of Public Works/City Engineer to enter into an agreement with Energenecs for providing upgrades to the SCADA system at the Water Reservoir for $13,500.

Body

WHEREAS, the Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for the Water Reservoir, located at 96^th and Rogers Streets, is critical for proper and safe operation of the City’s water system; and,

WHEREAS, the current proprietary SCADA software was developed to operate on Windows XP, which is no longer supported by Microsoft; and,

WHEREAS, if the server crashes the SCADA software would not operate on current versions of Windows 7 or 10; and,

WHEREAS, without a properly working SCADA system operating the Water Reservoir would have to be done manually, causing a potentially unsafe condition for the City’s water customers; and,

WHEREAS, it is critical that the necessary upgrades be installed as soon as possible.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Common Council of the City of West Allis that the Director of Public Works/City Engineer is hereby authorized and directed to enter into an agreement with Energenecs and take any and all actions on behalf of the City of West Allis to upgrade the SCADA will funding from the appropriate Water Utility account(s).
